The new president of the Scotland Northern Ireland and Northern England Area Council, Air Commodore (Ret’d) Stu Stirrat is aiming to visit every Branch and Club in our rather large area to introduce himself and raise a few bob for the RAFA Charity while he’s at it. Here’s what he has to say:
Hi folks, welcome to my Big RAFA Ride page, where I will record the events of my Big Ride to raise funds for the RAF Association while visiting all 60 Branches and Groups in the northern area. In May 2023 I became the President of the Scotland, Northern Ireland and Northern England Area of the RAF Association, the charity that supports the RAF family. I’ll depart Halifax, my home Branch, on Fri 4 Aug 23, and then route clockwise round my Area covering over 2500 miles visiting the Isle of Man, Western England, Northern Ireland, back to Western Scotland, across to the Isle of Lewis, Orkney and the Shetlands, before returning to Aberdeen and visiting Central and Eastern Scotland, then Northeastern England, getting home around 29 Aug 23.
